Walking with Intention Print
A reminder to move through life on your own terms.
A print size of your choosing on canvas paper or stretched over bars ready to hang
The story behind the artwork
This piece explores the tension in which female sexuality is often accepted only when it appears to belong to someone else rather than to the woman herself. It asks what happens when she withdraws her performance of availability and instead moves through the world with intention.
Visual elements
Cowboy boots are a symbol of independence and authority. They grounding the figure in strength and confidence. This work shifts the focus from the filtered external male gaze to focus more on presence, where power is embodied rather than performed.
Meaning and intent
This work examines the psychological shift that occurs when a woman stops organising herself around how she might be perceived. Moving beyond modesty or provocation, she occupies her body fully, she is present, self directed and no longer seeking permission to be seen
